View Full Version : Full Patch
I was looking at purchasing some vintage Krag ammo. The ammo is "full patch" does anybody know what "full patch" means?

In today's terminology, "full metal jacket" is used instead of "full patch". Means the same thing, every part of the bullet's core (except the base), is covered by the jacket - usually cupronickel back in the Krag's day, normally "gilding metal" (copper-zinc) or mild steel today.

I've got some Winchester full metal patch made sometime between the introduction of the model 54 and the model 70.
