View Full Version : Need Help Identifing Bayonet Scabbard

Greetings
Won a 1907 Wilkinson bayonet with date 3-17 has what looks like EFD stamped on the metal between the grip panels. Has 38 stamped by the release button other side of blade has f2 over e under a crown 18 and R. Scabbard doesent look right for a British Scabbard length seems right but it has a brass wire hanger it is leather with metal top and bottom with the letters GF inside a oval. what is the scabbard supposed to fit Thanks in advance P.S. I know pictures would help but I have dialup out here in the sticks

Probably the US Model 1917 which is a modified British Pattern 1907. See this link:

Thanks for the web link l mine is the 2nd model. Looks like mine was repainted at some time still has the green tint but has some black traces left. Now I will have to decide if I want to sell it and find a proper scabbard for my 1907 Wilkinson
