I picked up an M1917 bayonet with the blade engraved 27th Infantry Div: (New York) Army of the United States of America,,,, '''' France 1917 -18'''' 'E Pluribus Unum' ,,,, The Great War4 ,,,,,,,

Does anyone know the history of these bayonets as this is the second one that I have seen engraved this way.

thanks in advance

Google Gary Cunningham's "bayonet points", he has a good amount of info BUT sounds like a special run for veterans of the 27th.
