View Full Version : Out of the gun safe.
A poster's query yesterday about the O.G.E.K. inspector stamp on his M1917 got me to thinking...been over a year since I had my Elmer Keith-inspected M1903 Springfield out to the farm. It gets the nod for tomorrow. The .22-250 will do the bulk of the long distance woodchuck work, but for walking about I will tote the Springfield. Not many choices on my ammo shelf for woodchucks - mostly SMKs, Lapua Scenars and Berger target fodder. I'm thinking my .30 cal Gamekings are a tad much! But all I have. Pics to follow. - Liam
Liam, just being nosy but, where is the farm?
SMOKEY - my brother's 330 acre cattle farm near Charles Town, WV. The woodchucks have funny accents 'round those parts.
Do their tails spin when you hit them in the head. Cattle farm, at least he aint up at 0400 milking every morning. Farmers have a tough but good life. Thanks
Grass too tall for varmints due to recent heavy sustained rains. Rifle got a workout anyway at targets. A bad day at the farm is better than a good day at work!
