View Full Version : Colt C square marked barrel.
Are the C in a square marked barrels with the .45 Colt markings on the top original military barrels and if so would one be correct on a late Colt pistol?

Early post war replacement barrel is what you have described. If the .45 Colt marking was still down on the side of the barrel and the Boxed C was on the lug then it would be correct for a late war Colt A1

Has anyone seen the late WWII barrel that Clawson mentions as having the COLT .45 AUTO on the left side above the lug, with the C/square on the right side of lug?

Maybe Scott can help answer this. He has several late Colts on his site that reference having Box C barrels (some with D some with 7).

The Late Colt A1 that I have has the Boxed C on the rt lug but No Colt .45 markings at all on the side of the barrel. This Colt is in the 2.26 million range. I was sure that it did have the Colt .45 markings but I was mistaken.
It does have the D on the bottom of barrel in front of the lugs.

I do not recall ever seeing a boxed C and COLT .45 AUTO marked barrel.
