I have a 1943 M1903A3 rifle made by Remington. I have it in a nice display case with my 1943 M1 and I want to make a plaque to put on the outside with the vitals.
For example, my M1 will read:
M1 Garand, Springfield Armory, 1943
What is the proper name/manufacturer of this rifle?
Springfield M1903A3, Remington Arms, 1943
M1903A3, Remington Arms, 1943
Remington M1903A3, Remington Arms, 1943
I guess I'm confused if I still call this a "Springfield" if it was made by "Remington" ?

The usual referral is "Remington M1903A3". You could tack on "1943" at the end, like you did the M1.

For consistency with your M1 plaque, I recommend:
M1903A3 Springfield, Remington Arms, 1943
Springfield was the entity that designed the rifle and Remington Arms was the contractor who made it.
Hope this helps.

To be both correct and precise, omit "Garand" and "Springfield" as these are not in the official military designations: "U.S. Rifle, Caliber .30, M1" and "U.S. Rifle, Caliber .30, M1903A3".

Agree with Parashooter.
what ever you do, i think it is kind of neat
I did same thing, or close to it for a 1873 Springfield Carbine, had one literally fall into my lap for small amount of $$, guy actually owed me money (1K) and he asked if i would take the rifle in lieu of dollars, the rifle is pristine and ready to shoot with bright shiny bore.
so I hung it on the wall and made a small plaque with the nomenclature and some of the history of the rifle, and even put a 500 grain 45-70 bullet on the thing. Visitors have made lot of comments about it, Especially when i tell them "this is the rifle Custer had", then go to gun cabinet and pull out a vintage 1873 lever action 44-40 and say "this is what the Indians had"
but I like what you did, show it off man, they dont make em anymore
