99 dust cover question

I got a real nice dust cover from a beat up 99 rifle. I thought I would put it on my paratrooper rifle . With this dust cover on the paratrooper I am unable to close the bolt. Do the paratrooper rifles take a different dust cover than the standard 99 rifle? Or do I need to modify the dust cover? Thanks in advance

First off, check the grooves on the paratrooper and make sure they are clean and straight. If that looks good, try to figure out where the problem is with the fit. Then it is up to you if you want to try to bubba the dust cover or get one that fits properly.

Sometimes they just don't interchange. Usually repros and ones from training rifles will fit poorly. Others may fit one rifle perfectly but not fit the next rifle at all. My suggestion would be to ebay that one and buy another.
