Used Ray-Vin trigger breaker.Now trigger guard wont lock up :icon_scratch:
What is "Ray-Vin Trigger breaker" ???

It is a tool to make breakdown easier.
Did you put the trigger group back together exactly as it was before and test-fire it at the bench? If that went OK you just have some tight wood. Orlando's got a WW II photo on here somewhere of the rifle builders at Springfield whacking the trigger guards of new Garands with a big wooden mallet to close them. Heel of your hand will work.

Great tool. But I use a rubber mallet to close the guard, saves the hands

The only toll required for an M1 Rifle is a loaded cartridge. That thing likely bent the trigger guard.
Just slide the butt-swivel loop of your sling into the trigger guard behind the trigger and pull up and rearward. Even the tightest trigger groups come loose.

LOL, but we are not as young as we once were. I think the M1 I got in P.I. was about 6 or 7 lbs lighter than the ones I have now.
