View Full Version : Another m22 question.
Question on model 1922 serial no 6771b. It is marked m1922mii. It is blued. It has a 1926 barrel and does have the m2 bolt. Also it has what i think is a type b stock. It is a little different in the pistol area. Does this rifle sound correct as described? When was the date of manufacture? Is the blued finish and the different stock correct? Also i t does not have the sa marking on the stock. Thanks in advance.

The rifle would have been manufactured in Fiscal Year 1927. It would most likely originally had the type B stock. SA marking on the stock would indicate it had been through rebuild. The serial number of the rifle should be engraved on the bottom of the bolt. When the rifles left SA as new items the round channel the bolt travels in would be in the white. If it is blued or parkerized in that area the rifle has been refinished. The B after the serial number indicates the rifle was upgraded to 1922MII. When the rifles were upgraded to 1922MII the stock was often replaced with the M2 stock. Pictures would help.

Hi Herschel,
Another point, the first 1922M1's converted (1934) did not have the receivers so marked and should have the early M2 bolt without headspace feature.
