View Full Version : BSA #1 Mk111 ?
This rifle is dated 1939 and is a genuine Mk 111 with cutoff. While I expected it to be a Commercial, it has military markings. How could a Mk 111 enter service in 1939 after it was discontinued in 1914? I know there was overlap in parts but 25 years?

Does it have Australian or Indian markings?
BSA Co. made the Mk III from 1907 to 1915 and from 1919 to 1939 according to Charles Stratten's book.
The cutoff was not deleted in 1915, they just made some modifications to the MkIII & at the same time introduced another model without a cutoff that was designated the MkIII*
Carefully read the LoC of 1915 & note it is in 2 parts
