Here are five variations to the early numbered checkard elevation knobs.

I have only found one variation with the small arrows but two variations with the open and closed arrows.

Anyone else know of any other variations ?

Great shot and thanks for posting. Would it be possible to get a side shot in order so we can see the progression of checkering on the knobs?

I need a better photo or two, very fine checkering pattern on this early SA windage knob on a four digit rebuild - you can tell by the colors the one on the right is from a different rifle

Very nice rifles. Thanks for posting.
I'll try to get some more pics of the checkering. I know the fine checkering is earlier but I cannot definitely tell if there is a progression to the different checkering.

The very small closed arrows are the earliest , to the best of my knowledge, then open arrows, then closed arrows. Of course we must remember , first in - last out , so it is possible to find them mixed during assy.
