View Full Version : Remington Rollingblock Saddle Ring Carbine 50-45 cal.
I've had this quite some time now and being new to the forum I thought I would post a couple of pics. I reload for this and have to cut down 50-70 brass as there isn't any 50-45 available. I use 14 gr. of Trail Boss and 350 or 400 gr cast rn. A hoot to shoot...not too bad at 25 yds.:) Regards. Rich
Very Nice! I have a old RB M1876 (1883) Danish in 11.75. I have to make brass from 45-90 and load 16.5 gr's of Trail Boss.
Built this up with a heavy oct barrel a long time ago, than made the tang sight. I use to load black powder with about 6 grs of 4759 on the bottom to keep the bore clean. When the 500 gr lead bullet would hit the small three inch metal plate at 100 yards I would then mark the sight. Later I made a paper patch mould that was nose pour (photo of paper patch on the right) but really did not offer that much of an improvement

But a paper patched bullet looks coool.:)
Here are some Sharps cartridges plus some home made paper patch bullets
Beautiful rifle. I would love to have one in 50-70. Already have plenty of brass.
