I have one of the Mexican Police issue Colt .38 Super pistols that were imported by Odin International in Alexandria, Virginia back around 1984.

This particular pistol was made in 1958.

What style grips would have been standard on this?

Anyone have photos of an original gun from this time period?

thanks,
Marcus

The standard Colt stocks for Government Model pistols after WWII going into the 50's were Coltwood which is really a brown plastic grip. These grips would tend to shrink with age and many I'm sure were replaced.

Here's an example of one produced in 1961 with the grips I described. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=441062025
