View Full Version : 1915 M1903 Pictures and SRS check request
Hi All,
I bought this rifle from a friend last year. His father traded for it in the late 1950's. What can you tell me about it. Can someone check the SRS for serial number #623769. I can post any additional pictures that anyone wants to see. It is a nice rifle that I am happy to have in my collection.

You have a so-called NRA Sales rifle - they were sold to NRA members from about 1910 to 1916. They are probably the largest group of "unmolested" pre-WWI M1903 rifles in existence. They are rarely listed on SRS. Note the "NRA" stamp on the forward tang of the trigger guard. The purpose for this stamp was to make the rifles identifiable if they were sold to a third party (which they weren't supposed to be done).
Your rifle appears to be completely original, although it has obviously received a fair amount of use. I have three of them and they are among my favorites. Pre-WWI M1903s, IMHO, are works of art!
Got any photos of the rifle in full length?

Only this one. Anything in particular that you wanted to see?

Wow, that's a real gem.:headbang::headbang:
Thanks. No, I just wanted to see the entire rifle in full profile. All of your other photo's are of particular sections of the rifle. A great deal of information can be seen in both sides of a rifle's full profile.
