I'm on the lookout for one (or both) of the following M1903 stocks:
1) A 1908 or 1909 Rock Island one-bolt stock with the CN/(date).
2) A 1941/early 1942 Remington RLB-stamped grasping groove stock.
As far as condition, I'm not looking for "pristine" but would like the inspection stamps readable and hopefully, the grasping grooves discernible, although they don't have to be totally crisp. Within reason, repairs or other "issues" would be considered.
In trade, I would have one or more of the three following stocks (obviously depending on which stocks are offered and in what condition)
1) A restored RIA NO bolt stock with 1906 CN stamp clearly discernible. This is a modified RB stock with the cuts for the earlier "strapped fixed rear sight base.
2) A one-bolt RIA stock with a BAWL stamp and a large S (three of them!).
3) A heavily-sanded RLB grasping groove stock; RLB is very faint.
You can PM me through this forum or email me at rrsbls[at]msn.com with questions and/or offers. I can send pictures of any or all of these stocks upon request.
