I'm needing a new replacement "S" stock and would like some opinions of which would be best.
Dupage, Dunlap, Boyds, or Sarco, or some other seller ?
Which have the most issues or bad QC ?

DuPage stocks are made by Boyd's to DuPage's specifications. If you buy directly from Boyd's, you may get a DuPage reject. Dupage is a stock supplier to the CMP.

Dupage is your best bet, but don't expect a drop-in stock. You'll have some work to do, maybe a little if you're lucky or maybe a lot if you're not. They all have issues.

Personally, I'd look for a G.I. stock - if all you want is a shooter, there are lots of Scant and "straight" non-grasping stocks for relatively reasonable prices.

Looking at the sarco site, it looks as though the pictured stock is beech. Are they selling these in beech ??

Sarco tends to be less than forthright on items they are selling. You may have to call.

Dupage and Cmp have none, which makes me think the QC at Boyds is probably not there.

Do you have any photos of the minelli stocks you've done? That website is atrocious and I'd like to see some examples.

i no longer fit or finish Boyds or CMP wood, it too much hit and miss, with quality and fit.

for those to lazy to do a google search.

Wow, this is weird. Minelli, S.p.A. is an Italian company making wood stocks for importation into the U.S. When I visited Dunlap shop in Chantilly, VA a few years back I inspected pallets of American oak gunstocks (not completed). On the pallet was written "Pedersoli" - bound for an Italian gunmaker who specializes in making repro American rifles. Just an observation.

In fact, I did "Google" it so no lazy intended. I just thought you might have photos of the finished product. Sorry to harsh your mellow with an apparently unreasonable request.

Any comment on the NOS straight grip stocks at Numrich ?
Other than being what could be called the "type 11", does anyone know anything about quality - bent, twisted, etc

You might give Wenig's a call, or drop them an email. I see that they're offering a duplication service, so if you had a decent piece to use as a pattern, it'd be worth some investigation to see what they'll do.

I did a bit of digging, and see that they offer a "factory" dimensioned stock for the 03-A3. Probably have to contact them for a price quote, though, especially if you wanted something besides "American Black Walnut"...http://www.wenig.com/technical-info/patterns/1-piece-patterns
