View Full Version : OK, I've had Bill Mooks book "Krag Crap" digitilaized and downloaded...
Now what? I wanted to have just one solid copy made of the entire book in paper form to send it off to have it made available for all of you Krag guys, but My wife also had the place down load it all onto what I think she said was a PDF file and it was sent to my email address. I've checked it out and it's there and is quite good, now how do we get it all transferred to here for everyone to see and have a copy of?
Fred G.
I think that I'm able to send the whole thing in an email, so if anybody wants it, Private message me with your email address and I'll get it on the way to you immediately. You can run it all off on your own copy machine from there I think.

For others to view it online, you have to upload to a web host. If your ISP doesn't provide this service, there are free PDF hosting services available. Do a search for "free PDF hosting" to see some choices. The first one I encountered, http://freepdfhosting.com/ seems simple enough. Let's see how it works for this sample match scoresheet -

Can you view and/or download it OK?

Let us know what you choose, and thanks in advance!! I thought Joe Farmer had taken this on???
I sent him a link to the file tonight to his email. It's up to him now to process it for everyone to share. I just figured if you or anyone wanted it sent to you now, I'd do it.

OK, I'll have to get my wife to help me with it... I'm kind of software challenged...
I've already sent several guys a copy of the PDF containing the book who's email addresses I have, so I can at least do that. Please let us know if it came through and what you think of it all. At the time the photocopy was made for me, the images lost a little of their clarity. The digitalized images of Bill's book came through in every detail of the copy that I have though. What's really interesting is the serial number information at the end of it all. With it, one can actually determine approximately what week a rifle was made.

The PDF (http://5madfarmers.com/images_2014/mook.pdf)
Thanks.
Ned: might not be a bad addition for KCA. Here it's kind of hidden in a thread.

Hidden?- not so much.
First take:
Great stuff, love the pics and descriptions - not so sure of what appears to be an application of averages to determine dating, production, etc.
Thanks to Bill (I miss him) for the hours of mind-numbing work, to Fred, for sharing, and to Joe for the technical assistance!

Thanks Fred and Joe.
Thank Fred. He even PDF'd it. I just downloaded and copied to a web folder then posted a link. Takes longer to long into a computer than that.

Yeah, I pointed out that Mallory did that too. It doesn't work that way.
Look at the date though. 1978. Bill spent his best decades after that.
1978. I blame Jimmy Carter.

It shouldn't be hard for whoever is running jouster.com to add this to the homepage so all members could see it. Till then, can someone send it to me?

You're very welcome. I'm Dick, BTW, Mr. Hosmer was my father.
That was SO Joe Farmer.
Thanks to all who participated in the posting of the PDF. Great supplemental information to the published material.
