View Full Version : Colt New Army
I'am looking into the .38 long, Colt New Army revolvers, what models were issued to the U.S. Army. I currently only own the 1901.
Thanks,
hvymech
Not sure what your looking for. I suppose any of them could have been issued to the army.
There were several different model designations. They kept changing every time something was changed on the revolver. It started out as the Model 1892 then Model 1894,1895,1896,1901,1903.
The reason for the question was because there were Army, Navy, USMC, and civilian models sold .....does this mean that the US Army was issued the 1892,1894,1895,1896,1901, and the 1903 models ?
Thanks,
hvymech
All the revolvers you mention were all variations of the same gun,the Colt M1889 Navy Revolver.Here-
