I have all the accessories too. Just forgot to include in the album. The sight screwdriver is a work of art in itself!

Beautiful pistol. At the November 2013 Tulsa show there was a large display of boxed S&W Registered Magnums, and at last April's show there were several of what appeared to be the same collection for sale.

You should go to the Smith & Wesson site and show it off. You would probably get a ton of info on these guns. www.smith-wessonforum.com I have one with a 3 1/2 inch barrel that is a tack driver and fun to shoot.

There is a really good book out on the pre-WWII S&W .357 with emphasis on the Registered Magnums if you don't already have it.

K98, Have you ever found out anything/googled on the original owner
Johnny P..... how much/if any does it hurt to have the original owner's name engraved on the right side? It is so well done.. that either it was a S&W factory job........ or the work of a dern good jeweler/engraver.....my late father was both & a watchmaker too...........

Different opinions on that, but my opinion that if the engraving is done professionally and tastefully it doesn't hurt a thing. If the name happened to be S&W engraved, or the person the pistol was registered to it certainly adds to the pistol.

Thank you so much for posting that pistol. Now where's the pictures of the screwdriver?
Phil............ original screw drivers and or cleaning rods from the old S&W's can go for more than a pretty penny by themselves........... & thank you for the lead on those pre 64 Winchester super grades, very pretty........a shame that the .458 was drilled & tapped for the side mount......
