Hi guys,

I didn't find anything in my literature and on the internet, does anyone know what the shown marking means? And why is the used font on the serial number so much different from the one in the Karl Karash collection (especially the 1)?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Promo,

This looks like a Colt serial number (the 1's look like Colt of that time frame). This serial number is in the Colt duplicated serial numbers for 41696 Remington Rand pistols. The pistol you are referring to in Karl's disc is most likely a Remington Rand.

The 55 is the Colt assembler's mark. The OH in the spade symbol was most likely added after the pistol left Colt. (Maybe added in Europe?)

Best Regards,

I didn't have more pictures than the two I posted at the beginning and somehow got into the thinking it should be a RR pistol .. you're correct, it's a Colt production! And matching aswell, with GHD inspection mark.

So 55 is a factory code of colt, but what would the meaning of the OH in the spade? Why would they add such a marking in Europe? Has anyone ever seen one of those before?
