Up for your consideration is a US Surcharged 1905 Ross Rifle. NOT cut down to carbine length. Full stock!
First I'd like to point out the drawbacks....
Top of the barrel has some minor rust and discoloration. Nothing major but a visual blemish. The handgaurd has a slight crack on the light side (very slight took me a while to find it when I was trying to go over this rifle), easily repairable. And the most noticeable is the initials/name scratched on the side of the stock. Very unfortunate.
The plus... 1 of approx 20k. So I try not to be too picky. The barrel appears to be in good condition but very dirty haven't had time to clean it but a lot of shine and I did the bullet test and there's a lot of life left in the barrel. But needs to be cleaned badly. The stock appears to be unsanded but I'm no expert. The cartouches are all crisp and sharp (which is what leads me to believe unsanded).
On a side note I thought there was grease in the small areas but they scratch off to show nice metal. I may be wrong but I think the grease on this rifle may be original and no one has taken it apart since its service life but that's just a opinion from a amature so take it at its face value which is not much
It's a solid gun I'd hate to part with it but I have to raise money for my next purchase. And this is my second Ross Rifle...
I have not fired this rifle. So have it checked out by a gunsmith before firing if you intend to do so.
Just gotta go to a C and R or FFL.
