View Full Version : Loading 9X19 soon
In the next few weeks I will start loading 9X18. Anything to watch out for? Any gotcha's? I'll be using 93 gr LRN.

use your barrel for case gauge--listen for that clunk when you drop a round in-that's my only clue to a good round
I prefer to use a max length case gauge if I can find one. If not I'll use the barrel.
I load it but with cast bullets so I'm not much help - except,
I put a taper crimp on mine, not too tight.
I plan on ordering some cast lead soon.
The 9x19 or 9mm Luger is an easy round to reload. And the 9x18 Makarov is also easy to load for. So which one are you loading for?
I should get a 2 cavity mold RN 147 or so and cast my own for my Glock. Most don't pick up their brass so that shouldn't be any problem.

Bad fingers hit wrong buttons. I will be loading 9X18 as soon as my supplies come in.
Bud, unless you change the barrel in your Glock then you should not be shooting lead in it. In fact Glock will cancel any and all warranty on your Glock if you use not only lead reloads in it but any reloads in it. It's all comes from the polygonal rifling used by Glock as it can cause a build up of lead and that will raise the pressures and the gun can be damaged by that.
Joe what model Makarov are you going to be shooting? It's not a model 82 is it?
