Remington Rand Value

A friend of mine has a Rem-Rand 1911A1 that he wants to sell. I do not have any images so I am just looking for a rough estimate value. I have commercial 1911s so I would not even venture a guess but I have seen them listed on the auction sites anywhere from $1500- $3500.

Here's the piece;
Remington Rand 1911A1 Ser# 1037XXX, has been re-parked but done well with clean proof, acceptance marks (I realize that this effects value significantly). Was told by the owner that the original barrel was serial matched to the frame(?) but was neglected and replaced with similar vintage. Unknown if magazine is original. Estimate overall re-finished condition @ 95%.

Hard to say without photos but a refinished Remington Rand is around $800-$1000

The original barrel would not have had a serial number. It may have been a 1960/70's vintage replacement barrel with a part number. The original barrel would have been a blued High Standard, marked HS on the right side of the lug.

Agree on the price.
