Hello, i just found a WWI serialized m97 in original condition the day after Christmas in the used gun rack at gander mountain. The bayonet/ heat shroud mount was modified at some point in the guns life and I am trying to find a real shround/ mount for this gun. The serial is 681533. Falls in the 1918/1919 range. I tried to put pics in an album and do a post but could not upload pics from my iphone. That is the only thing this gun needs besides a sling. Have a 1905 bayonet already. I would like to know if you have any sources for the part. I would be glad to send pics to show you the gun. Thanks, Matt

This gun is one of the US marked guns.

Pretty sure you need an M1917 Enfield bayonet for the shotgun.

Why did you not start your own thread? Why hijack someone elses?
