Three years ago I bought a nice RR that some genius had put aftermarket sights on the, previously, all original type II slide. The rear sight was removed and a military one reinstalled with no harm done. When the front sight was removed it was descovered a small flat area had need filed into the slide to provide for the aftermarket sight base. I reinstalled the correct front sight but the flat spot is still visible.
This Rand's SN was high enough that I was able to locate a type III slide for it.
Now I want to put the damaged slide on a aftermarket frame or, and preferably, an arsenal marked rebuilt military receiver for a shooter. Does anyone have one available? If not, what brand aftermarket frame would you recommend I purchase?
