Hi

When installing a replacement barrel to a M1917 receiver.
Oil the threads for assembly, or not?

Thanks

Try to get hold of Chuck in Denver. He has posted here many times and being a gunsmith has rebarreled many 1917 rifles.

Not oil. Use an anti-sieze high-pressure grease. Go to you local auto mechanic. He should give you a small dollop for free. Use it sparingly. A little dab will do you.

Hi
Sounds good, I use pure nickel anti-sieze on a lot of aircraft assemblies. Good stuff

The 106 has gone the way of the 102, 100, and now the F-4 and the F-16. Except for the museum pieces, they were all expended as targets over the Gulf of Mexico. Regards, Clark

There are still more than a few F-4's at the bone yard in DM....I was just home last Thanksgiving, and seen 10 from Kolb Rd.
