I have a May 1918 RIA and a Mark 1 Springfield.
I have 2 questions regarding the rear sights. Should the windage knob be dished out or solid on either rifle? Also, on the elevation slide, one has a "sighting ridge" (not sure on correct terminology) on the top, the other doesn't. Which one would be would be correct for either rifle? Also, should the elevation slide knob be dished or solid.
Have already learned to tell the difference between the SA, and RIA elevation leaf thanks to the forum members.
Thanks again for any help.

Your May 1918 RIA rifle and your Mark I Springfield should have the same style rear sight. The windage knob and the slide binding screws should be dished and the drift slide cap should have an elevated ridge with a sighting notch in it.

Hope this helps.
