This pistol is back for sale as the buyer has unexpected marital problems and needs cash instead of a Nambu. As some of you know from my past posts, I collect US, German weapons and British sniper weapons from WWI and WWII, though I do from time to time pick up some nice Japanese weapons as well. I bought this pistol from a retired couple. The Nambu belonged to her step father and he owned it for the 40 years she knew him. There are no other details.
I normally pass the Japanese items on to other collectors. This is a very nice Type 14 Nambu and ammo. It is in outstanding condition. It is cross posted on several other forums.
The pistol is an all matching save the magazine It is a January 1930 round trigger guard Tyoe 14 from the Tokyo/Kokura Army Arsenal. There were only about 9000 Nambu pistols made in 1930, or about 800 per month. This is a very low production rate compared to wartime Nambu production, not to mention Luger or Colt 45 production. Given that this pistol would have seen service in China, Manchuria as well as the Island campaign, condition is evceptional. The 25 groove grips both have matching numbers as do the bolt, locking block, cocking knob, trigger, trigger guard etc. The ammo is 38 rounds of quality reloadable Midway. The four rounds of original ammo have been sold. The ammo will have to be shipped separately. Bore is minty.
Holster, strap, rod and spare pin have been sold.
The pistol is priced at $750 plus shipping to your FFL or C& R. The ammo is priced at $75 plus shipping. Or buy both for $775 plus shipping OBO. Possible trade for high end US and German WWI and WWII weapons. Please email me with any questions at snipershot1944@yahoo.com
