There is NOTHING to show it is USMC or military issue.

I think a quick check of the ser#'s would show that it is outside the correct range to be legit. Buy the gun, not the story. Caveat emptor.

Yes, and why someone who appears to be interested in guns as he is, want to sell his dads shotgun in the first place? Seems to me the last thing I'd let go.
