No hit. Which is a really good thing, espeically since it's in the 03A1 NM range. Any pics of it?

If it is an original sniper, it shouldn't be listed in SRS anyway.

From your description, it may be a National Match rifle that was modified for a scope (I admit I'm not familiar with a Fecker scope). Keep in mind that NM rifles sold to the military were not on SRS.

Pictures will be VERY helpful!!

It sounds promissing. From what I can research most were made from the team rifles. Though some were also thought to be made from new parts that were made Match. But it sounds like yours started as a true NM from the beginning. From what I can find, Philly Depot had I think 1047 of them or somewhere around there at the time of the initial builds. From an interview with Colonel Walsh in 1990 who founded the Sniper School at New River. The last shipment of NM team rifles they received from SA was in 1940. Which would be around the time for yours would have been shipped.

First thing I would look for is a punch mark on the flat of the polished receivers. This is said to be a sign of a Marine match rifle. They were punched then polished over so they somethings are harder to see. But does it have this?

The finish on that sure seems like classic Marine 1903. If you dont mind me asking, where did you get that from?

I sent you a PM for something to look for Danco101.

Can you post pictures of the drilled holes for the scopes bases, with the scope bases removed? Are there any vise markings on the barrel?
