View Full Version : What is the going rate for a WWII Marine Unertl scope?

I'm starting the process of looking for a real Marine 7.8X Unertl scope. What can I expect to pay?

I saw one sell on ebay a while ago for $3500 I think. But I can't remember much details about it. I've seen one in the $4500 range for just the scope, no can. But I don't know if that is high or the right price. I sort of imagine that is a little high?

One recently sold a RIA, and I believe it sold for $3750. If I run across it again I will post it.

Recently saw a Lyman STS 20x with USMC mark below the serial number. Do these bring a premium price from anyone?

I might be interested in it if you can get it for a decent price and want to make a little money on it. They were team rifle scopes

There was one on ebay I think it's still there but if I remember it's starting or buy now at $5,800 I bet if you have the money he'd lower it. It's been on there for awhile I'm sure it will be back

I ended up buying that one. lol I made him an offer and he took it. It is being shpped to me as we speak. :)

That's good news, by the way I also am a crazed USMC rifle collector lol I really like your last rifle that you posted very very nice. I've been watching the usmc unertl scopes and they have creeped up to that 5k mark. Wish I had bought one when they were expensive at 2k lol. Good luck and if you mount it please post photos

I paid $4500 for the scope. I will post pics. Marine A5 talked me into buying it, so I will blame it on him. lol

I think he has some personal things happening right now so it might just take some time for him to respond. But I will tell him if I catch up with him. :)

I have bought two USMC 8X scopes in the last year. One at Allentown PA show and one this last March at the MACA show in Baltimore MD. Both had the original cans with them. I paid $4500 for each. I have seen them for higher prices on GB and Ebay.

Jeff you and my buds who live in southern states have all the luck with gun shows! Down here in south Florida all there is are AR's AK's purple and pink pistols. If there is an occasional 03 or Garand they are extremely over priced and I've never seen any parts or 8x scopes!! I'm going to Virginia at the end of June so hopefully I wont see pink or purple lol!!
