This is a Swede Model 38 short rifle 6.5 x 55 Swede cal. It is a true purpose built Model 38 short rifle not the Model 96/38 which is a cut down rifle conversion. This rifle was made in 1942 by Huskvarna. It has all matching parts. It is in excellent original condition. The bore is excellent mirror bright with like new rifling. The stock retains its original finish. There are no splits, cracks or defects except for some small normal handling marks. It is completely original with no additional holes or alterations. It does have a small tin tag that is attached to the trigger guard. It has a number stamped on the tag. I don't know what this tag is or what it means but it is easily removable. I leave it on because that is the way I got it. The mechanics are perfect. Perfect feed and function and extremely accurate. This caliber is very mild and a real pleasure to shoot. These Swedish model 38s are one of the best looking best built military mausers ever made. A beautifull rifle. The price is $575
