My wife got into her sauna tub bare and buck natural, so I felt compelled to have some armament at the ready just in case some hobo or pilgrim passing down the road 1/4 mile away was tempted to investigate further. :icon_e_surprised:
Well, any excuse to bring out a favorite firearm for photo's is a good one! :1948:

Quite thoughtful to have emergency re- hidration at the ready.

Fred, a clip of 30-03 might be a better choice, your sights will be right on, eliminate the bullet "jump" from the shorter cartridge
and less strain on your receiver with the 30-03 ?31104

Wow, a single five round clip of original 30-03 runs about $150.00 to $200.00. Now THAT's collecting! You're right about it being easier on the rifle and also on it being synchronized for the rifle's sights too. Shhh :eusa_shhh:, don't tell the Memsaab. She thinks she's safe with me around.

Fred, If you fire a number of rounds of that 30M2, your handguard might come-off as the band
is still missing, the hot barrel will cause heat waves that will distort your sight picture !

photo shows proper location for the band, the other handguard is 1903A3

Yes, I should remedy that ASAP . I have the proper fitting Band or Clip now. I only need to pinpoint t exactly where the holes should be drilled at the Proper angle from the bottom end of the rivets (under the clip) so that their top ends are at the top of the hand guard in the right place. I believe that you once gave me the Center to Center measurements of the two rivet heads, but I cannot find it now. That would Really help me. Also, once more if you would be so very kind, May I please have the distance from the Center of the top end of the clips to either end of the hand guard? To the edge of the wood shoulder on the hand guard where the Rear barrel band goes would be just fine! Thanks Robert!

Fred,

center to center of the two rivet heads is outside .675 inch while the inside is .475 inch they are at an angle

center of the rivet head to edge of wood is .430 inch

band is .650 inch wide and 6 3/8 back from the front

Wow, that's good information. THANK YOU! Is that 6 3/8" to the edge of the band or to the center?

Robert, is that outside Center to Center measurement of .675 measured straight across using a compass or is it measured around the contour of the hand guard?

Thanks, Fred

Fred, change that .675 to .740, did a re-measure and that's straight across the top
