hi guys
greetings from Italy
found Yesterday this great m1. receiver serial number say august 1941, barrel say 1-50. so a rebuilt for the korea war.
but, the stock doesnt have any marks, arsenal rebuilt marks, or proof marks.
as you can see by the pics, the front and rear handguard match exactly the stock. the metal on the wood are old and the stock ferule have the same old dry grease that is on the op rod. so for me the stock is original and not replaced
the rifle have a lot of cosmoline inside. it came from an old collection, i think the old owner had it for 25 or 40 years, but this grease inside the action and the mint gas cilinder ( on inside) mean the rifle never shot .
so my question is.. it's possible that this stock doesnt have any marks? is it possible??
many thanks for the help
ciao
