1943 colt barrel

Has anyone seen circular wear patterns like on the barrel hood of this 1943 colt? I haven't looked at many of these 1911s' but I haven't seen a pattern like this before. Thanks31513

I think it looks like the finish wearing off the high spots of the tooling marks. I wouldn't be concerned about it.

Marks on your barrel are actually quite common on the 1911 and 1911A1 pistols. The more they were shot the more pronounced the markings became.
