This book is an extensively researched (the notes and bibliography at the end is 142 pages) exhaustive analysis of the bomber campaign in Europe with meticulous examination of every facet of the war. It includes sections on everything from profiles of all of the commanders to tactical and strategic analysis, to how body wastes were handled in bombers; it's enough to say a B17 that had been in service for a while didn't smell very good. I think even the best versed students of the air war in WWII could learn a little something from this book.
It's also very readable.
