How soft is the Garand market now. Looked at 6 nice correct grade type rifles last night. 3 ihc,s 1 win, 1 SF, and 1 HRA. He's going to let me do build sheets on them tomorrow. I spent most of the time looking at the IHC guns...all parts I could see on the outside were IHC with LAR barrels. REASON I'm asking is its a buy it all deal so I'll have to sell some due to wife not understanding:). I'll post the build sheets here for second opinions but its a lot of cash to come up with and I
hear the markets soft.

Most I've seen are around 1K each, unless they are something special.

Figure that's where the SP and HRA are at. He says the IHC,s are all IHC and the Win is right but he's not certain on the barrel. If so I'd think they are worth more. I'll be able to confirm what he said tomorrow, but first impressions were good. My problem is I last was up on prices was in 2010 to 2012 and I think they've come down some.

I recently sold my 1943 correct Winchester for $1000. That included a WW2 bayonet and sling.

Were the rifles sold as "Correct Grade" by CMP or are they "corrected" by a prior owner ??

I try and avoid the story but all the rifles were bought reportedly from an employee of the Anniston store in the 1990s. The owner ran a big gun show for 25 years and met the seller their. He got first dibs and bought the good stuff. He's willing to write a letter...Its still just a story.

He bought them as Collector Grade. Because he has no paperwork so far I chose to call them correct grade

Thanks that's helpful. Was the bore good or was it well worn

Got him to break up the group. He kept one Win-2 one late IHC and 2 Springers I thought were overpriced. I bought 1 gap IHC and 1 early IHC, one Win-13, and 1 HRA. I'll post data on seperate post. Pick up tomorrow night...my dumbass took cash but rode a motorcycle.
