I found 3 more sets of these 3 pce Shotgun Cleaning Rod Sets with U.S. Ordnance proofs and my son thinks I might have a couple of more somewhere in his storage been that has in there for some time with my other WW2 stuff.
I have for sale a pre-WW2 wood and brass 3 piece shotgun cleaning rod set. These sets are commercial and probably made in the 1930-1940's maybe even earlier. What is unique about this set, is that was procured by the Ordnance Dept. for use during WW2.
GROUP ONE.........On the HANDLE BODY section, there is a ( FLAMING BOMB and a U.S. ) proof. The set also come with a cotton mop.
The set assembles nicely. I would however not use this for extensive cleaning ( although you can ), but consider its age. It is more for display with a shotgun display.

GROUP TWO......... On the TOP OF THE KNOB OF THE HANDLE SECTION there is also a ( FLAMING BOMB and a U.S. ) proof. The Flaming Bomb looks like it was double stamped or the striker had one too many during lunch??? This set also come with wire scrub brush.
It also assembles nicely and seems to be without much usage.

GROUP THREE........ On the TOP OF KNOB OF THE HANDLE SECTION, there is a ( FLAMING BOMB ) and on the
body of the Handle Section, just below the hand grip, there is a ( U.S. ) Proof. This set didn't have a cleaning accessory but I did find a wire scrub brush and included it.
The set also is in fine condition and assembles nicely. I did rub some oil on the ( U.S. ) marking "seen in the photo" it
was hard to make out when taking the photo.

I have included a group of photos for your viewing. If they don't come thru, I can send photos individually via your email address. Any questions please email to ( THIRDHERD1965@COX.NET ) .....thanks BOB
I am asking $40.00 plus $5.00 shipping to conus. If more than one is requested, I will not charge 5.00 for each rod. I can refigure the charges.
