what's da scoop on this? for some reason.. the leather & rivets look almost too nice.. but by far I'm no expert.. is it righteous?

The odds are the leather is a replacement. That is not uncommon and the rivets are correct. In fact all that I do see indicates a USGI M1A1 stock from the second run.
