IBM barrel rec, and many marked IBM parts.....parked, with bayonet lug......the big question-stock marked w/ crossed cannons, in a square "SA" above "SHM", in the sling cutout are 4 letters-"RMC" and below that a "B". info on the stock would help.Gramercies in advance-W
The RMC B could be an early Rockola for IBM stock. Is it I cut? High wood? I've only seen late acceptance stamps and they were 0.45" cannon, no box. There could be arsenal rebuild marks mixed in too. Pics would help.

Friend has a nice rebuild that came back from Israel I believe, and it has the boxed SA/SHM rebuild mark. For a number of years Springfield Armory used the same acceptance mark used on new production on their rebuilds. Not uncommon to see rebuilt 1903 rifles with boxed SA/GAW marking.
You can also find the post war SA over SPG rebuild stamp on carbine stocks too
The SA/SHM is a bit of a rare stamp on a carbine as Col. Steven H. MacGregor was only at Springfield Armory for less then two years. Not many carbines went through there for rebuilding back then in 1945.

Thanx, all...btw, does there exist a registry of sorts for carbines, like SRS?
No there is no history available for them. Too many went overseas to other countries. More then any other US made firearm.
