I have a few New in wrap, New old Stock M1 Carbine barrels for sale. They are currently in Mississippi ready to ship and if there are any left by then, I will have the rest for sale at the Show of Shows in Louisville in February. The barrels are all in Heavy cosmoline and US GI wrapping paper and I have included a Picture of the original shipping crate they came in. I will unwrap one barrel to find the code. The ones I had before were from the same crate and were Underwood 1943-44 dated barrels. The price for each barrel is $ 400,- including shipping.

We unwrapped one barrel slightly to find the makers markings and its a Winchester barrel.

A picture of the top of the front sight would help date the barrel as war time or post war production.

Why is this Winchester marking not clear/crisp. Looks like a very used barrel to me??

Highly doubtful.

The barrel is not a used barrel. Not all Winchester proof stamps were deep and this one still have some protective oil on it. Makes it look like it's a used barrel.

The barrels are brand New, packed for the weapons aid program and shipped overseas in the 50's. The barrels are covered in cosmoline and very messy. Obviously I will not unwrap all of them to look for specific codes etc as that ruins the NOS NIW status. I will post a pic of the front sight for the gentleman who requested this. All the barrels seems to have the front band With bayonet lug. As I have mentioned previously, the ones I have unwrapped and degreased before have been Underwood barrels With 43-44 dates.
I guarantee the originality of these and also the unissued status. These barrels have never been mounted on a gun!
As for the faint Winchester marking, it appears to be a double strike. The wrapping paper alone should tell you what these barrels are.......

Several years ago I purchased a NOS Underwood barrel from Folke. It is a beautiful barrel, proper Underwood front sight, and a type III (AMCO if I remember correctly) barrel band. They were I believe MAP (military assistance parts) and the barrel was and is pristine. I have purchased a number of items from Folke and I have great confidence in what he is advertising here is the real deal.

Just an FYI from a past very satisfied customer.

Ernie, these barrels are the last from the same batch. Its a pity that no one seems to believe that they are genuine. The wrapping and the crate ought to be a good indication they are the real deal.....

Hi Folke,
I wish you good luck on selling these. I am surprised that they have not been snatched up. You are the only person I have seen in quite some time with NOS USGI carbine barrels. Hope your doing well. I bet they will go quickly at the Show of Shows.

That is a Winchester barrel and the front sight appears to be a thumb nail typical Winchester sight. If there is a slot behind the front sight then it's not a WW2 barrel. Winchester received a contract from the government post war to make replacement barrels. Winchester was also storing carbine machinery from companies that had made carbines but returned the machinery to the government at the end of the war. Winchester used the barrel making machinery from IBM to make those barrels. That is why there would be a slot behind the rear sight which is typical IBM. But the barrel is a real Winchester barrel and not often found.

If you can come up with an Underwood in one of these dates 7-43, 8-43 or 9-43 I'll take it, providing it is in great condition. Thanks, Gene gatsutton@yahoo.com

I am sorry, but I am not going to degrease the barrels in case I find something someone would want over the other. At least until we have had them out for a while.
