Wts 1898 krag rifle. This one is new jersey marked. It was made in 1899 and has a strong clear 1899 cartouch and proof mark . The bluing { with the exception of the butt plate } rates about 94% and there are some case colors still present on safety of the bolt assy. The bore is excellent bright and shiny with great rifling. The wood retains its original finish. It has not been sanded or refinished in any way. Just normal honest handling marks. The letters nj are stamped on top off the butt plate and there are other markings stamped on the upper rear spine off the stock. The mechanics are excellent with perfect feed and function. Also included is the original brass muzzle cap, 3 piece cleaning rods, oiler and a nice 1903 leather sling. This is a neal nice solid honest representation of a us model 1898 krag rifle.
