Hello,

It's finally here. My CMP Service Grade Saginaw and I couldn't be more pleased. For those of you who are still waiting, here is the timeline from order to delivery.

Fri - 1/29 - Mailed packet UPS for Monday delivery
Mon - 2/1 - 10:30 am - received and signed for on loading deck
Mon - 3/14 - email verification of order receipt
Thurs - 3/19 - email verification of order processing
Fri - 3/18 - email verification of shipment
Mon - 3/21 - Rifle received

Saginaw receiver, Serial #34407XX (which should be late 1943), Saginaw barrel (no date but with a 1+ for both muzzle and throat) , no visible marking or cartouches on stock but is potbelly, Type II handguard is marked JL-B which should be IBM.

Haven't had the chance to shoot it yet but will soon.

This joins an M1 Garand which I got from CMP in 2004. It is a 1944 Springfield, also in excellent condition, and a great shooter. So far it looks like I'm batting 1000% from CMP.

Good luck to all who are still waiting for their Carbine.

Congratulations on a nice carbine . . . and welcome to the forum! Hope your "new" Saginaw shoots as good as it looks.

Looks like you came out well in the luck-of-the-draw. CMP has always done me right as well.

Nice addition to the family. I love those carbines, nothing more fun to shoot.

Nice one. Saginaw is one of the harder ones to find in good shape.

I missed the whole offer. What were these going for?

Hal, This was pretty much a one day affair....Feb. 1. The service grade (which mine is) went for $685. The field grade went for $625. I was lucky to score one.

Thanks Tom.

I pretty much had to assuage my sorrows with a LGS purchase of a run of the mill rebuilt Inland mixmaster
