Smith Corona Bolt - "big" safety lug or scalloped?

I've seen SC bolts with both types safety lugs. Is one an early version v. a late version? If so, any idea at what serial number range they switched from one to the other? thanks in advance.

The "square" one is the later version. Unfortunately, I can't tell you when the switch was made.
