what is everyone doing?
I subbed some IMR 4064 for Varget for my .308. It requires 43.5 grains of 4064 and that matches the speed (2760) of 45.0 grains of varget with the 150 hornady BTSP bullets or the 147 grain surplus bullets.
I have yet to sub out powder for the .223 as I "shifted" my varget I would have used on the .308's to the .223.

Anybody else.
I have a friend who found some winchester 748 for his AR. I used to use Win powder years ago but I got away from it as I liked the varget much better.

I use only Varget and Win 748 in my AR. No need to "substitute" other powders as these are readily available here in S.E. Iowa.

I started using AR-Comp in my Palma rifle when Varget was unavailable. I like it better and will keep using it. I've got a buddy who swears by IMR 4320 for his Palma rifle. For my AR, I use Ramshot TAC, burns clean and meters very well. The last election shortage taught me a few things: learn to be load component flexible; if you like something, buy it in a large quantity; and start stocking up a year before a presidential election, lay in at least a two year supply.
