Looks like a WRA/GHD overstamped with an Augusta Arsenal AAB.

Is this the leg of the W ? Sure looks like a G. Just to the left of the first A looks like the partial leg of the H. The B is part of the AAB.

I agree with RCS. Judging by the cut out, it looks like a WRA / WB converted to trap door.

Short channel or long channel? Small screw hole over large screw hole. Looks like GHD.

I agree that it has the large lower screw hole, but look at the uneven cut out for the trap door. I have never seen a cut out that crooked and uneven on a WRA trap door stock. The factory trap door WB stocks (at least most of them) had a large lower screw hole, but the trap door cut out was straight and even, just like the GHD's, so I don't think this is a stock that was originally manufactured as a trap door stock.

What would account for what appears to be a G in the proper location and no WB? If it's not a G, what is it. The marking is consistent with the WRA and box.

You are right. After comparing the pic with my WB stock, the distance between the W and the R seems to be closer to a GHD stock than to a WB, which has a wider spread between letters due to the periods which the small box GHD does not have (and the pic does not have either). I based my first guess on the fact that the uneven trap door cut outs was something I have seen on modified stocks, but never on a factory trap door stock, and did not look beyond that.
