Punch the Clown

I have an Alaskan with the long bell and an "A" prefix on my A4. I was going to swap it out but after looking at vintage Alaskan ads it seems the long bell came around in 1951. That makes it good enough for me. Here are pics of an Alaskan ad from 1950 and then one from 1952. The 1950 ad is the small bell and the 1952 ad talks about the improvements made to the Alaskan and that none were available retail in 1951. Interesting.
