1943 Ithaca ?

Recently purchased the above & am wondering..it has a Springfield barrel. Would this be correct for a 1.22 million serial no.?

Early on when production was just getting ramped up there was a shortage of barrels, but by the time Ithaca was in the 1.2 million range there should have been plenty of High Standard barrels. You could check the wear pattern on the back of the barrel and the breech face to see if they match, but since the Springfield barrels were field replacements it could have been in the pistol for a long time.

There just isn't any way to know for sure, but there will always be the question of whether the Springfield is original to the pistol where with a High Standard there would not.
