Has anyone out there removed the bayonet stud from the flash suppressor ? If so would your recommend grinding it off or cutting it off ?

I would suggest trading with someone that has a neutered suppressor rather than killing another one. If you must, a cutting wheel works fine.

why remove it? Just buy a muzzle brake that has no bayonet mount.

I had to stick these on a couple dozen of my rifles to make them legal in CT. Sucks.

Leave that lug alone!

Bayonet lugs are NO LONGER an "assault rifle" attribute, here in Connecticut!

I pity the guys that ruined the collectability of their rifles by cutting them off.

Too bad they can't sue the state for the value they lost!

M1A owners have had to change out the original "flash hiders/supressors" (which also happened to contain the bayonet lug) for "muzzle brakes" in order to comply with the IDIOTIC Connecticut law.

Don't ya' just love it when those that know nothing about firearms, are making laws about firearms! --Jim

Makes you wonder just how many people have been "bayoneted" in Connecticut by criminals?:icon_scratch:

The IDIOTIC law. Connecticut just happened to be one of the States with it. In any case, changing a flash hider on an M1A isn't difficult with the right tool(isn't really hard without it either). Lots of aftermarket stuff around for the M1A.

With politicians changing the laws at will, it gets expensive just trying to stay legal.

This is another more drastic solution.
