I recently purchased a spear pointed 1943 M1905E1 UFH bayonet and scabbard to go along with my 1943 03-A3 rifle. Overall, I'd say the condition is good. The blade has no rust and the handle is only showing some slight wear. It has the full length fuller groove so it was reduced in length to accommodate WW2 standards. The scabbard is also in good shape.

Question of the day: I googled "PAL-MOD" that's stamped on the reverse side of the blade near the handle (ricasso) but didn't turn up any results. Does anyone know what PAL-MOD means?

Update: I found the answer. PAL Blade and Tool out of Plattsburgh, NY is the company that modified the blade to meet WW2 standards which involved reducing the length from 16" to 10".

PAL is the manufacturer that modified (shortened) it..
